Middle Eastern Meatballs

Serves:

24 meatballs (1.5oz each)

About the Recipe

Middle Eastern food is one of my favorites because the spice blends are so incredible. I made a meatball for an easy approach, perfect hosting or mid-week ease. They are truly so delicious.

Ingredients

1lb ground beef

1lb ground lamb

1 ¼ C onion, chopped (1 medium)

2Tbsp garlic, minced

½ C parsley, chopped

Spice blend:

2Tsp cumin, ground

2Tsp smoked paprika

1/2Tsp allspice, ground

1Tsp chili flakes

1Tsp coriander, ground

2Tbsp Baharat (can sub Lebanese 7 spice or garam masala)

2Tsp black pepper, ground

1Tbsp kosher salt

Other ingredients:

Oil for your hands to form meatballs

Yogurt for, serving

Pomegranate Molasses, for serving

Tomato, for serving

Parsley, for serving

Pita Bread, for serving

Preparation

1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

2: Combine spices together and set aside.

3: In a bowl combine beef, lamb, onion, garlic, parsley, and spice blend. Mix until just combined. Overmixing creates a tough meatball. I like to do a tester meatball to check for seasoning before forming. Oil your hands and using a measuring scoop, form the meatballs.

4: On a parchment lined baking sheet, bake meatballs for 25-35 minutes until browned and cook through.

5: I like to serve them on a bed of yogurt and pomegranate molasses with sliced tomatoes, parsley and pita bread. Enjoy!
